Collar of Neferuptah
Description & Significance:
This necklace is one of the treasures discovered in the tomb of , daughter of Amenemhat III, Princess Neferuptah at Hawara . This collar is made of six strings of carnelian and feldspar beads. The clasp of the collar is also shaped as a falcon head-the falcon head in the necklace symbolizes that the deceased would be protected by the falcon god, Horus in the afterlife. Date: 12th Dynasty |
